Resilient
Practice

An ongoing partnership for organizations that need somatic and nervous system support woven into the rhythm of their work, across multiple touchpoints in a year. Workshops, retreat facilitation, and on-site reset spaces, designed together with your team and returned to as the seasons of the work demand it.

The Pattern

One workshop won't carry your team through the year.

You already know what your year actually looks like.

The launch sprint that leaves people running on adrenaline. The convening where everyone arrives already depleted. The legislative push where communication starts breaking down by week three. The post-election Monday where nobody is okay but nobody has time to say so. The staff retreat that was meant to repair the year and ended up just adding to the calendar. The slow attrition of people you trained, mentored, and counted on.

A single intervention can interrupt a moment. A practice changes a year.

What's Different

A workshop interrupts a moment.
A practice changes a year.

A single workshop is powerful and sometimes exactly what a team needs. But organizations doing high-stakes work over multiple cycles need more than one moment. They need somatic and nervous system support that shows up at the points in the year when capacity is most at risk.

A workshop

One session, one team, one moment in time.

A 90-minute or 2-hour intervention. Your team learns the tools. They walk away with practices they can use immediately. Sometimes that's exactly what is needed, and the team carries it forward themselves.

A practice

Recurring presence across the year.

A custom partnership that shows up at the launch, the convening, the legislative push, the post-election week, the staff retreat after a hard season. Multiple touchpoints, designed together, returned to as the work demands it.

Resilient Practice is a partnership where I'm embedded as a recurring presence in your organization's year, not a one-time visitor.

The Foundation

Grounded in the Collective Resilience Framework.

Every Resilient Practice partnership is built on the same methodology. The shape of how it shows up in your year is custom. The foundation is consistent.

Nervous system regulation

Somatic and breath-based tools your team can use in real time, designed to fit inside the actual workday and the actual pace of mission-driven work.

The Stress Chain Reaction

How stress moves through a team in stages, and where to interrupt it before it reaches communication breakdown and rupture.

Four conditions of resilience

Shared regulation skills. Supportive communication. Psychological safety. Stress awareness. The structural pillars a partnership is designed to strengthen.

How We Work Together

The shape of a Resilient Practice partnership.

Every partnership is custom. Most include some combination of:

Resilient Teams workshops, recurring

The 90-minute or 2-hour somatic and nervous system workshop, scheduled at the points in your year when capacity is most at risk. Not one and done. Returned to. Each session builds on the last, so the team's shared language and practice deepens over time.

Retreat and offsite facilitation

Holding presence, co-regulation, and integration across multi-day gatherings. The work of being together in the work. Designed for teams that need their retreat to actually function as recovery, not as another item on the agenda.

On-site reset spaces at convenings

A structured, somatic space inside your event for people to step away, regulate, and return with their nervous systems back online. Particularly powerful at conferences, member assemblies, and during high-stakes campaign periods.

Leadership 1:1 and team support

Optional ongoing support for executive directors, program directors, and HR leads navigating the team through hard seasons. The person holding the team also needs somewhere to put it down.

What Your Year Looks Like

What changes when resilience is built into the rhythm.

Concrete shifts your organization can expect across a year of partnership, not abstract benefits.

01

The team enters the legislative push already knowing how to regulate, instead of learning it after the first wall.

02

The post-convening Monday is not a wreckage. People come back online faster.

03

Staff retention through the cycle improves because people are not leaving to recover from the work.

04

The director is not the only one holding the team together. The team has its own infrastructure of care.

05

The win, when it comes, is something the team has the capacity to actually feel.

What People Say

From the people I've worked with.

"

Biola was an absolutely amazing addition to our 10 year convening. She was prompt, considerate of the safety and accessibility of all our attendees, and ensured that everyone could participate no matter their level of ability or comfort. I left with tools that I will be using to ground myself. I also got to see how Biola cared for and held the people in the room. She didn't feel distant. She was checking in with our attendees and tailoring her sessions to how folks were feeling that day. It is such a treat to have someone who knows what organizing is and how it takes from us, to help restore, ground, and shift our shared culture toward one of healing. Having Biola at our convening was pivotal.

Biola led several yoga sessions at our Community Accountable Civic Engagement Cohort gathering. Her class was accessible, grounded, and left participants feeling ready for the day. In organizing convening spaces that are often full of ideas and difficult conversations, it was great to have a leader who could simultaneously hold space and be present with people while providing concrete tools for breathing and physical activity together. I would highly recommend Biola for your convening.

"

After attending Biola's virtual breathwork session, I felt a much-needed sense of relaxation. Her gentle and reassuring guidance created a safe space for me to explore the power of my breath. I left the session feeling more relaxed and grounded than I have in days. I highly recommend Biola to anyone who needs help letting go and embracing the peace we all deserve.

Grounded in Lived Experience

This work comes from the inside.

With over a decade in political campaigns and advocacy work, this approach is shaped by firsthand understanding of high-pressure environments. Not in theory. In real time, under the same conditions your team is navigating.

I have worked inside electoral campaigns, advocacy organizations, and movement spaces across electoral politics, labor unions, environmental justice, and more. I know what it looks like when a team is running on fumes and can't say so. I know the meetings where nobody has the bandwidth to ask the real question. I know the cycle that ends with the most committed people leaving.

Every engagement is designed to be practical, accessible, and aligned with the realities teams are actually facing. This is not a wellness vendor coming in from outside the movement. It is someone who has been in the rooms.

Take the Next Step

This is a partnership, not a transaction.

If your organization is ready to build resilience into the rhythm of the year instead of scrambling for it after a hard cycle, a discovery call is where we start. We will talk about your year, your team, the specific points where capacity is most at risk, and what a custom partnership could look like.
